This book was a good read but it didn't capture me all the way. After
losing her parents and sister in a tragic car accident, Lily distances
herself from those still around her. As she solely focuses on her work,
she refuses to form any emotional attachments in fear of struggling
through another unbearable loss. The story about Lily is very sad and it
is heartbreaking to know she lost so much. The book started off of
slow and it was going okay until she meets Kyle.
Kyle enters
her life with his possessive and overbearing personality. Instead of
running, Lily finds herself drawn to him. Helping her on a path to
healing, Kyle stands by her side and lends her his strength. This is
where the story changed for me. I did like the chemistry between Lily
and Kyle but the only problem I had was that their relationship went
from like 0 to 10 within a few days. Kyle had just met Lily and was
already professing his love for her and that there was something between
them. Kyle is bossy and a little conceited but he seems to genuinely
like Lily. It's just he becomes so bossy after knowing her a few days
and already saying that she was his.
Their romance goes on and
at the end of the book there was a huge revelation made that might
change Lily's life completely. I'm not sure Kyle will be able to get
through to her, which means Lily will do what she normally does. She
will distance herself from everybody again. In the next book, we will
see what happens after the book left us with a revelation that is
shocking and at the same time devastating for Lily. Will Kyle be able
to save her?
