Alluring Turmoil by Skye Turner
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Okay ladies. If you loved Kellan Kyle you are going to love Jude Delecroix. OMG I took on this book as a beta reader and it was one of the best decisions I've made. I was hesitant because I was not familiar with the author's work, but let me tell you that Skye Turner is AMAZING!!!! I was captured within the first 2 chapters of this book and sometimes it takes at least 4 or 5 for me to get into a book.
The book is about Jude and Lexi, and how a misunderstanding can cause so much pain especially when it could have been so easily avoided. Jude has so much passion and so much love for Lexi. It really pulls at your heart when you see the depth of his love for her. Here is an excerpt of a letter he wrote to her before he left on one of his tours:
“Lexi,
I woke up this morning with you in my arms and thought to myself, I want to do this for the rest of my life. You in my arms is perfection. It’s cosmic. It’s simply the way we are supposed to be.
I couldn’t wake you. You were sleeping so soundly.
I know that you and I are moving fast. It’s exhilarating. When I’m with you Lex, it’s like we were never apart.
A lot has happened between then and now, but the now is what I want us to concentrate on. Now it’s you and me. You are what’s important. We are the only thing that matters to me anymore.
What happened back then is irrelevant. I want you. I want you always.
You are what I see when I look into the future. 5 years from now, 10 years from now, hell 50 years from now, you are there.
As a teenager and young man, I loved you. You were my everything. But I didn’t really understand what that meant. Now, as a man, I love you even more.
You are the reason I smile, Lex. You are the first thing I want to see when I wake up and the last thing I want to see before falling asleep. I want to see you smile every day and I want to know that I’m the reason you’re smiling.
These next few weeks are going to be hard for me. I’ve gotten so used to you, to sleeping with you, to talking with you, to kissing you, to just being with you, that’s it kind of hard for me to imagine me functioning without you.
Know that I may not be next to you, but that you are with me. Always. In my head and in my heart. You’re a part of me again. The most important part of me. Lex, you own me. You own my heart.
I left the keys for my house and my car with you. I want you to use them and I want you to give serious consideration to moving in with me when I get back.
We’re adults. I know what I want and what I want is you. It’s always been you.
I see no need to beat around the bush.
I want you. In my life, in my arms, in my bed. Every night.
Think about it…
You own my heart. You own everything I am.
I love you Lex.
Jude
Seriously??????? I started crying when I read that. Now you see why I think he compares to Kellan. Man Lexi is one lucky woman!!!
Lexi is successful in her career and has a great business going for her. However, she is very insecure and has so much doubt in Jude. This insecurity and doubt destroyed them for 8 years. Lexi is not as wishy washy as Kiera but she definitely could use some faith and belief in their love.
As far as the other characters in the book, I completely loved her best friends Erik and Bradi. Erik is a sweetheart and takes such good care of Lexi. He’s like the big brother every girl wishes they had. (I’m the oldest so of course I wanted a big brother, and plus we are all girls ) Oh and of course I can’t forget about Bradi!! She’s the best friend that is fiercely protective of Lexi and has no problem speaking her mind. I love her….lol
You will not be disappointed with this book. I look forward to more books by Skye Turner. Mark my words……and prepare yourself for an AWESOME book and love story.

My review of Savor Me by Kailin Gow--4 stars out of 5
***May contain spoilers***
Kailin Gow did an excellent job with this book. Savor Me is the 2nd book in the Master Chefs
Series. When Taryn decided to go back
home I completely understood. I would
have been freaked out myself. The more
you read though you can see Errol is remorseful and really tries to win Taryn
back.
I was hot and cold with Errol in the first book, but in this
book I am completely hot for him. At
first I didn't think he was going to pursue Taryn when he so easily agreed not
to come after her in New York. When he
replies to her message of leaving her alone, "I understand. I'll leave you alone. I hope you'll let me know when you're ready
to talk to me again." As
soon as I read this I was disappointed because he gave up so easily.
Taryn’s relationship with her brother and mom is very
close. She is very loyal to the family
business, and will not stop for nothing until it is successful. Her gift for cooking is something that
shouldn’t go to waste, and I was a little sad for her because she wasn’t able
to complete her studies in Paris.
Her first day back working at the restaurant she unexpectedly
runs into an old high school by the name of Matt. He is a fireman with FDNY, and is HOT AS HELL…lol
Suddenly, I’m like Errol who?? I got a
little worried that her feelings would turn to him. I wouldn’t have blamed her. Matt is a really nice guy. He’s one of those too good to be true type of
guys but really is true.
Out of nowhere Errol comes back and she tries so hard to
resist him. He does go slowly and you
can see that everything he is doing is to win her back.
With Errol’s aroused and arousing body pressed against her, she
silently watched her brother pass along the far wall that cut straight into the
kitchen. Only when he was gone did she
breathe again. “You have to go,” she
hissed at Errol. “Your body betrays you,
Taryn. You want me…just as much as I
want you.”
Oh my….is all I have to say about that. The book is very hot and steamy and I love
the chemistry between Taryn and Errol. Their love story continues in this book,
and will still continue in Consume Me, the third book in the Master Chefs
Series. There is so much more I could
talk about but then I would be here a very long time. However, I’m glad I was selected to read the
book for a review and to be part of Kailin Gow’s talent. I can’t wait for the third book to come
out. I also think we need to have a book
on Matt to see where he ends up.

My review of More Than You Know by Alexandria Rhodes---4 stars out 5
Prepare yourself for an emotional roller coaster. I loved this book, and how it was
written. Bryn suffers so much in such a
short amount of time. I don't know how
she did it because if it had happened to me I would probably still be in
bed. Her strength to keep going was
inspiring. Although she did avoid going
back to her home town, she handled the whole thing remarkably good. She had a strong bond with her dad and a very
close relationship.
When she leaves for school her intentions are to leave her
past behind and start a new life. She
succeeds in starting a new life, makes new friends, and graduates from
college. Then she has to go back to her
home town to make some final arrangements for her house that she grew up
in. The one fear she had was that she
would see her ex-boyfriend Tyler. He was
her first love and he shattered her heart completely. I loved Tyler but I couldn't get past the
reason he left her without any reason.
No explanation...nada!!! The same
for her best friend Tyler's sister. They
were all inseparable then poof gotta go...see ya!! I was so mad for her as well.
However, as you start reading more and more and in between
the lines you can see there was a lot more that happened that caused Tyler to
leave with no explanation? I still don't
understand why he didn't just tell her.
I can understand it but doesn't mean that I liked it. I like how they slowly start seeing each
other again and how everything worked out.
OH GOD!!! The whole situation at the end that involved her dad and Tyler
made me cry so hard. I couldn’t stop
after I read this part. For a little bit
there I thought I was leaking spinal fluid lol.
That’s what me and my sister say when our noses run away from us.
Lord I felt for Bryn
and then finally Tyler. You will have to
read to see why. All in this entire book
was great. I loved it and would
recommend it but would advise that you may need the regular to make it through
the entire book (tissues, wine, and chocolate).
